Bigging up mums

I had to take time off @mumsnet because I was finding some of the malice aimed at mums very depressing. So, instead of going away and feeling sad about this, I would like to start a thread to say that I adored my mum, I was devastated when she died, I think about her almost every day, and I wish I had told her more often how loved she was. If MNetters could pause, if only briefly, to consider how they will feel when their terrible mums aren't there any more, it would help the many people in my position. No need to reply unless it is to say something positive. Thanks and enjoy your day.

So sorry to hear your mum isn't with you anymore 💐I can't imagine life without my mum. She's our rock and if I ever need her she's there no matter what. She's 62 now and I had a real panic moment on her birthday last week realising she's getting older 🥲

My mum is the centre of our family, we’re all very lucky to still have her with us. I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you soon find comfort thinking of all the happy memories.

This is a refreshing post to see on mumsnet, thank you for thinking of this.
I am very fortunate to still have my parents although they are both in pretty poor health.
I count myself lucky and blessed to be able to still speak to my parents, text and call them, and spend time with them.
I am so aware that time is precious so I try to ensure we don't waste it while we are all still here- even if it's just sitting for a cuppa together, it is time well spent in my eyes.
I am so sorry for your loss OP, very big cuddle to you. Flowers
