How to get a mortgage on my own

I'm going to have to give up the family home 😞 devastated but it's just bricks and water (I'm telling myself). If we sell I'll have half the equity but it won't be enough to get a mortgage on my own. I've booked an appointment with my mortgage advisor so she can tell me more.
I work part time on 28K, full time would be £50K. Chance of big bonuses after probation.
If I worked full time I think I could only get a mortgage on a house that cost £190K.

if anyone has experienced something like this, did you end up saving your equity and renting? I really want to be able to buy again for me and my two DC. I saved for years for this house 😢 We both worked full time and went halves on the deposit.

My husband doesn't know I want out yet, well we've had numerous conversations about how he doesn't treat me right but my eldest (3.5yo) has just had a diagnosis of autism and it's just woken me up to what's important. Him and my other DC having two happy parents.

Sorry I'm really worried about our housing situation and rambling. I think I'm asking what you did about housing if you separated/divorced and sold your family home?

@heartofglass23 exactly, lots of figuring out to do especially childcare if full time!
Eldest will go to mainstream and will be fine sharing, his difficulties are in other areas.
I'm speaking to H tonight to get him to leave for a couple of months so we can have some space and go from there. He has somewhere he can go in the same town so I'm hoping he agrees.

I got a mortgage on my own, it's doable depending on location. Where about are you?

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Don't forget if you go full time and remain on good terms with the ex to include him in childcare plans, no reason not to! He might appreciate the extra time with the kids (thinking pick ups here)

I'm with Nationwide. I borrowed £200K on £32k per year and put £110k down. I did this through a broker. Bare in mind that any mortgage company will take out expenses such as child care before they look at affordability. I'm fortunate that I a have increased my salary since and I overpay each month, not by much, but it all helps.

@Fallingoutofsanity he's an amazing dad so he would definitely share the load. I just wanted to get worst case scenario (divorce and losing house) straight so I could be strong enough to tell him enough is enough.
It's all shit 😢
I've got this
(She keeps saying)

@Wannabegreenfingers if it came to it and I have a big mortgage then this would be a possibility with bonuses I can get etc
I just wouldn't want to skint myself

Booked my broker appointment for a couple of weeks time
