Working nights with toddler

Hi, just wanted some advice or opinions of anyone in the same shoes. I have been offered a job part time working 2 shifts a week starting at 3am. Has anyone done this and managed to be then coming home to a toddler aged 2 , will be trying to sleep a little before go and then nap when the baby does? And the shifts are 5hr and 7hr. I really need the extra money now struggling financially. Surely it's doable and not to feel like crappie. 😩

It’s doable, but you’ll be knackered. But you need the extra money so go for it.

Oh no...

You won't last long at doing that.. how long are the shifts?
ork 11hr night shifts and have a 5yo and an 8yo... but am also pregnant.
after my maternity leave i will be putting youngest in nursery for the day between my two nights and the day after. Day before husband will have her.
There's absolutely no way I could function long term coming home to a toddler after a night shift.
I only get 5hrs sleep anyway as have to collect kids at 3pm. That is hard enough.
You might be able to get away with it on the odd occasion but your body will fall apart if you are intending to do night work long term.
I mean a 3am start might mean you can fit in 5hrs before your shift? You need to make sure you are getting a fair amount of sleep. Have you got a partner who will look after your toddler from say 6pm? And deal with any waking in the night with toddler? Then you could try to sleep from 6.30?

The shifts start at 3am one is for 5 hour and the other is for 8hr. Few days apart. I was planning on sleeping early before going if can and defo getting a few hours before hand then early night the following night. Toddler sleeps through night so wouldn't be a problem.
