Does anyone have experience of electrolysis?

I've booked to have electrolysis on my upper lip in a couple of weeks. If all goes well, I am planning to book a long course as I am aware that it isn't a once and done situation.
I am very fair so not suitable for laser treatment and I would like a permanent solution as I just can't stand having a hairy top lip!
I've had other treatments at the salon I am going to and it has a very good reputation/experienced practitioner etc.
I just wonder if anyone else has had this done and if so how you found it?
I've seen some horror stories online about scarring and putting but the vast majority of accounts are positive.
Would you recommend or not?

I’d highly recommend it, I had it done on chin area every 3-4 months over a few years, you have to persevere till the little beggars are all gone. It’s a bit nippy at the time and you’ll have a rash for a few hours afterwards, but well worth it for a long term solution I’d say.

I'm trained in electrolysis, although haven't practised in some time.
It can be effective but you will need several sessions as the hair has to be treated in a particular stage of its growth cycle for the treatment to be successful.
There shouldn't be any pain, you may feel a tingle of the current, but this should be adjusted so that you are comfortable.
There should also be no scarring. The needle is entering the hair follicle, not piercing the skin. If there is any pain, bleeding or damage to the skin then it's been done incorrectly.
