Tell me everything about them.

If you have them, what do you serve your guests, special touches, any specific entertainment?
If you have been to them, what were you given and what was mentionable at any you have been to?

Im looking for inspiration

I have people for dinner before but I've never called it a dinner party. At what point does dinner become a dinner party? I usually do nibbles, main with sides and then dessert. But it's a very casual affair so probably wouldn't be considered a dinner party.

Are you hosting? How many? What's on the menu?

I have very small dinner parties. I have probably been overly influenced by my 70s upbringing and so a typical menu would be something like

Starter - prawn cocktail (but poshed up) or an avocado bacon salad.
Dinner- Roast chicken with all trimmings and gravy or beef wellington with potato dauphinoise.
Pudding - eton mess; cheesecake.

I don't do entertainment. I might have music playing in the background.

Actually just thinking about it I am boring myself!!

Oh and my only tip is to make something you are comfortable with. My parents used to do dinner parties alot and it all got quite competitive over who was the better cook etc.
