Why is this not common knowledge?

I've always known about PMT and I'm aware in myself that I get a little irritable in the few days before my period but recently I have noticed that 10 days before my period I honestly feel emotionally unstable. Minor things will make me cry.

I had a little Google and came across this graph which very clearly shows why I struggle at that time, there's a big drop in the hormones that make you feel good. Am I the only one who wasn't aware of this? Why is PMT such a more known thing than the bigger dip in hormones we get right after we ovulate?

I'm thinking about going back on the depo injection purely to feel more stable. (I don't need it for birth control reasons) I never used to get PMT on it and now I'm thinking it will help with my issue mid cycle. Has anyone done that?

Do you think I should be concerned about this new difficulty I have for 3 days of the month?

Why is this not common knowledge?

My (male) personal trainer explained more to me about the impacts of a menstrual cycle than any medical professional or teacher

Your body goes through so much every month for 30-40 years, yet we just have to grin and bear it with little complaint

For those that do like to work out then articles like this one are really insightful on what type of exercise to do in each week

I only know about this as I started tracking the massive increase in appetite I have around the middle of my cycle. I feel more of an impact from it than I do PMT

@Krustykrabpizza yeah. I know I get very hungry during PMT. Similar to the article above I bet there's som science behind how many calories we should be having each day depending on where we are in the cycle.
