What can I spend my audible credits on if I like...?

I like celebrity autobiographies like Elton John/Miriam Margolyse, older film stars like the carry on stars and 1980s/90s comedians - not anyone under the age of 40 with the exception of Rylan who I love.

Love love love non fiction like John Ronson's psychopath test one but not anything business or self improvementy

I did enjoy the Sweetpea crime fiction book series but only like fiction if it really grabs you. Loved Eleanor Olyphant.

I'd love a good funny book like the discworld series, I don't think they've ever been matched but maybe I'm missing out on something?

I've accrued three credits and determined to get my money's worth before setting off on hols tomorrow.

Thanks !

If you like Terry Pratchett, I recommend the Stranger Times series by CK McDonnell - really funny and very well-narrated.

The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a historical fiction where Evelyn Hugo is giving a final interview at the age of 79 about her life. I really enjoyed it. It's apparently loosely inspired by Elizabeth Taylor.

If you like Discworld and haven’t yet read it you might like The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Audible have both the audiobook of the novel read by Stephen Fry and the original radio comedy series, depending on your preference.

Forgot to also recommend the Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch!

I was also going to suggest this series for fans of Pratchett!

For celebrity autobiographies: love Carrie Fisher’s memoirs, and she read the audiobooks herself which I enjoyed. Mark Harris’ biography of Mike Nichols is obviously not an autobiography but it is really great, so many good Hollywood stories from the 60s to the 00s and he interviewed an amazing roster of actors.

For fiction - based on you liking Discworld - I'd recommend the Chronicles of St Mary's (I got hooked after trying the first one following a Mumsnet recommendation) or The Eyre Affaire (and sequels).

I tend to avoid celebrity biographies and autobiographies but I really enjoyed How Not To Be A Boy by Robert Webb.

You can get all of Jeremy Hardy (a left wing comedian who sadly died a couple of years ago, if you're not familiar) speaks to the nation, which is highly recommended.

It starts in the mid 1990s and runs over probably a couple of decades so while it is obviously dated in places there are a lot of parallels with now as at the beginning the country was in recession and the ordinary population were being fucked over by a Tory government....

I also liked I've Never Seen Stars Wars which is Marcus Brigstock talking various celebrities through experiences they'd never done before like watching Star Wars or eating pot noodles.
