Just that really!

We've just decided on £10 a week for DD11 if all her chores are complete (I've made a chart that she ticks off)

We've also signed up to get her a Rooster card so she can pay for things herself when we're out and about

No idea what the going rate is though.... 😂

I only give my 13 year old £20 a month. But she gets pocket money from her nannies, so overall probably works out at around £40 a month I'd say.

She opened a bank account with Halifax and has a contactless card. No fees involved.

doroda · 15/08/2023 15:47

She gets £25 a month.

Bye2Stone · 15/08/2023 15:53

£20/month here, and also gets pocket money from grandparents. But we pay for her phone and her hobby, which amounts to about £80/month.

We haven't attached the pocket money to chores or anything either.

Lovegood · 15/08/2023 15:53

He gets his age per week. So, £12.

MandUs · 15/08/2023 15:58

We are doing school year a week so £7 a week. Another £7 or so on her Giff Gaff goodie bag. Don't want to add up the hobbies. Several hundred a month.

Rockfordpeach · 15/08/2023 16:00

£25 a month

LivLongAndProsper · 15/08/2023 16:00

5/week but school lunch card filled, which is about 15/week and phone paid for.

HitsAndMrs · 15/08/2023 16:02

£15 a week based on chores - £2 ish for each one, so they only get it if they have completed everything and they save a lot of it. We use GoHenry.

Blueuggboots · 15/08/2023 16:12

£20/month. Paid once a month. Once it's gone, it's gone. I also save £15 a month in an ISA for him.

SallyWD · 15/08/2023 16:13

£25 a month

PSBorNormal · 15/08/2023 16:16

£20 per month. Paid into his account on the 1st.

Summerswimmer998 · 15/08/2023 16:16

Gosh what do these 12yr old spend the money on? Mine gets £10 a month, but I suppose we pay mobile £10 a month plus school lunch card/train. My 15yr was only getting £20 a month but now has a p/t job so earns £200 a month

Rockbird · 15/08/2023 16:20

Just raised DD2's to £30 per month. We live very close to town and as she's about to go up to secondary she's more independent than she was previously. She spends it on Starbucks and crystals etc with her friends.

She also gets her phone paid and and Stagecoach so she doesn't do badly!

Whatsthepoint1234 · 15/08/2023 16:35

£20 a month

TheFormidableMrsC · 15/08/2023 16:42

£5 per week here but I pay his phone contract and normally end up buying Robux for him too (he has ADHD and autism and finds the whole Roblox building of things relaxing). So all in all it works out at about £50 a month I'd say.

FixTheBone · 15/08/2023 16:45

Nothing, because they've elected not to partake in household chores.

The kids that do get pocket money.

My 12 year old DD is very independent. She'll meet her friends and go to a cafe or Burger King. Sometimes they go shopping in town together. Very easy to spend £25 when she's often out and about!

NeedAMoneyTree · 15/08/2023 18:57

I haven’t added them up to get an actual average, but seems most say £20 - £25, which is much more realistic than I think my DC were banking on 😂

Currently £5 a week, not attached to chores or anything. This is for him to spend on whatever he wants, we pay phone, school bus/lunch etc. He actually chooses to save most of it. He's had a go henry account since he was 8.

Lovegood · 16/08/2023 10:53

Mine spends his on online gaming mainly. I give him money if he goes out with friends for lunch too and also £5 per day school lunches, and I pay his phone bill. So he gets £12 a week pocket money, plus £5 a week from grandad, he's loaded but never seems to have any money!
