Santander Trustee Accounts?

Have name changed for this post as have family on here. Would like some advice before discussing with family as don't have the best relationship and feel awkward raising things.

Was house sitting at my grandmothers house a few months ago and she got post from Santander, addressed to her but said "trustee for x" (my name).

Feel stupid now for not opening it as would have answered my own question - but does this mean that she is a trustee for an account for funds related to me?

Thing is I turned 18 almost 10 years ago and from my understanding if someone is a trustee the funds go to the recipient upon turning 18? Which hasn't happened in my case.

No one has mentioned anything of the sort to me but my uncle had terminal cancer when I was a teen and passed away sadly. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps he left money for me in his will as this was before I turned 18 but surely something would have come of it by now.

Is there a way I can find out about this or would I just need to come out and discuss with them.

Could I contact the bank and ask if any accounts are held in trust for me?

As you have probably gathered the family dynamic is not great!

Yes it usually means she is looking after funds for a beneficiary (you). You don’t automatically become entitled to it at 18, it depends on what the Will said and the type of trust.

You might be able to check your uncles Will here before you discuss with the rest of the family - https://www.gov.uk/search-will-probate

Search probate records for documents and wills (England and Wales)

Search online for a will, grant of representation or probate document for a death in or after 1858
