I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, with the window open so I can hear the birds outside. I'll get some breakfast in a mo when I've decided what I fancy.

There's a couple of wash loads waiting to be done, and a handful of pots to be washed up so I'll sort those in a bit. Not planning on any other housework today though.

Today will be a slow one for us I think. I could do with a day of not much after chemo on Friday and Pride yesterday. I'll probably do some crafting of some sort - maybe work on the top I'm crocheting myself.

The girls said they weren't fussed about doing anything, when I asked last night, so I expect they'll stay in bed quite late then have a moochy kind of day.

We're having gammon for tea. Probably as a roast, I think. It's going in the slow cooker for the day then we'll decide together later on.

Tonight's likely to be shower & early ish night for me. Probably with either a bit of reading, or doom scrolling, in between

What about all of you? 🙂

Lounging by the pool, reading my book in the hot Italian sun ☀️🕶️

JMAngel1 · 13/08/2023 11:06

Morning everyone. I’m relieved to see others having lazy days as I have nothing major planned for today and it is WONDERFUL.

I’ve come back to bed with a cappuccino to MN and read my book after tidying the kitchen and downstairs and hanging washing out (although it’s gone very grey so may have to bring it all in again 😢)

DH is watching a film DDs are very excited about a Roblox Riyal High Phase 3 release - I have no idea what’s going on but it involves a school that looks like a Barbie house!

Just laundry to put away and a roast to make for later - I may pop out to a local Antique Village as I have a mirror that needs reframing.

I’ll take DDs out for a walk at some point this afternoon - probably stop at Costa - we’re all obsessed with their frappes!

Sorry to hear you’re not well Lucysmam - you always sound so lovely on here - why does cancer always hit the good ones.

@HoliHormonalTigerLillyTheSecond
You lucky thing. What part of Italy are you in?

Bookist · 13/08/2023 11:26

Finishing my 2nd coffee then grabbing a quick shower before heading over to the house we're selling to do the finishing touches e.g. fresh fruit in bowl, fresh flowers, room spray etc. Then going for a late lunch with DD and her boyfriend before going to see Oppenheimer. Tonight will be spent doing my new jigsaw and gloating over my new, beautiful bespoke puzzle board.

girlmeetsboy · 13/08/2023 12:06

I woke up late and have hoovered the house and washed the bedding (in and out on the line between showers!) Ironed DH shirts for next week. Now cooking a roast Id never started - DH always says don't do too much but here I am making Yorkshire puddings, cauliflower cheese and mushy peas from scratch! I do actually find it relaxing but I'm looking at the bottle of the rose in the fridge and wondering if 12.06 is too early!

JustCarryOnWalkingPast · 13/08/2023 12:08

My Grandchildren were hear last night. They've gone home now. I hung bedding on the line (it's since poured with rain and the washing is now absolutely soaked). Going out for a pub lunch with my husband soon, then we'll have a lazy afternoon

I have been up since 5 am I love peaceful early starts. Waiting for Dh and Dd to move and we are going shopping for carpets and lino. I am trying to find quotes for decorators and I am determined to sort this house out before Autumn. My dd is 11 and we still have toys, craft and other stuff hiding in cupboards from when she was younger, It is going to be very cathartic these next few months for me! We can have a nicer more grown up home now shes older and all thanks to a tax refund that arrived for Dh really unexpectedly nows my chance! I hope your chemo goes well Op and you go from strength to strength. It must be tough and I am thinking of you and sending you best wishes.

Decafflatteplease · 13/08/2023 12:24

Morning @lucysmam hope you had a good time at pride!

Lovely morning so far here I went swimming on my own first thing then met my teens for breakfast in town and a mooch round the shops we are slowly doing their rooms up so got a few bits.

Home now, no real plans this afternoon, just tidying, laundry etc the usual stuff. Got a busy but fun week this week coming so need to get some things organised for that.

Homemade meatballs and spaghetti for dinner but I'll probably have cauliflower rice with mine. Then usual self care Sunday of bath gin and Kindle I e nearly finished a book on my kindle so really hoping to get it done tonight. Also have a face mask to do my skin is really bad at the moment so hopefully this will soothe it.

Have a lovely Sunday all!

Moving day! We’re relocating from London to Glasgow and I am so freaking excited but trying to keep a level head. Sat here having a coffee whilst writing a final to do list and trying to calm down three equally excited children.

A big welcome from a fellow Glasgow resident 😀

Purplerain0505 · 13/08/2023 13:14

Also having a very lazy day here! We got home from a week camping yesterday evening so we’re all shattered. We all had a decent sleep but we’re a bit out of sorts today. Thankfully there isn’t much housework to do but the car is still full of camping gear which we need to empty at some point when I move off the sofa. Might get myself another coffee first though! DH is going to pop out and get everything for a roast dinner which I’m looking forward to.

JamSandle · 13/08/2023 13:17

Did some work this morning.

Meeting some old work colleagues for a lateish lunch.

Tidying to do once I'm back!

TakingTheHorseToFrance · 13/08/2023 13:22

I can hear my 13 year old, 10 year old and 7 year old sifting through boxes of lego upstairs. I fought with them to get off the Xbox and I'm glad I did cause their actually playing together. The 13 year old is at the funny age where every now and then he'll join in with his brothers but obviously he's more or less grown out of toys. I love hearing them when they are getting on.

We are going to our local town that has a street musical festival on so that should be good.

Eggsley · 13/08/2023 13:58

I took DS2 to football training this morning and we got drenched going back to the car. DH has done some ironing and is now watching football. DS1 has been gaming but went to the shop for me to get some bits for lunch. He's playing a game on his phone now, but snuggled up to me which is lovely, as he's nearly 13 so cuddles are much rarer than they used to be. DS2 is gaming as well.

Not much planned for the rest of the day, it's cold, wet and windy here so we're staying in. Our whole house needs a good sort out, clean and tidy but I'm off work next week so will do bits and bobs here and there. Have got to sort the kitchen later as my hairdresser is coming over tomorrow morning. We might watch a film this evening. Not a clue what's for dinner yet!

Hope you are both getting on ok with the chemo @lucysmam and @AllotmentTime FlowersFlowers

CeriB82 · 13/08/2023 14:01

Giggorata · 13/08/2023 14:17

Good afternoon, lucysmam and all,
I dyed some clothes a lovely indigo blue today and had them out on the line but during a long phone conversation with my friend it rained. Heigh ho.

After a huge brunch I went and pottered about tidying and cleaning upstairs until I had to rest. I'm not too well atm but have a scan next week, so might get a clue.
DH is dealing with the dogs, so I am watching reruns of Battle Bots, the US version of Robot Wars. All that metal mayhem and carnage really cheers me up.

Dinner will be roast beef etc and tonight maybe a film with a glass of wine.

Hobbitlover · 13/08/2023 14:34

Afternoon,

Horses fed, dog had walk one & now napping.
DS is gaming, we all had sausage sandwiches for brunch.
DH will be heading to work soon, house needs a good tidy but I cba lol. Might bake a cake & watch rubbish till dog needs walk 2.

riotlady · 13/08/2023 14:35

Good afternoon :) I’m spending the day with DS on the special care baby unit- currently grabbing a surprisingly nice roast beef dinner from the canteen downstairs. He came off oxygen last night and they are talking of potentially discharging him on Tuesday so I’m very excited!

Hopefully giving him his first bath this afternoon (which he definitely needs lol) and then my mum is picking me up and DH, DD and I are all going to my parents for pizza for tea. Will probably have a massive gin and tonic before early bed

PollyCreo · 13/08/2023 14:52

Hi @lucysmam I've met you on the other thread, hope you're doing ok ☺️ I was wiped out yesterday and ended up watching Desperately Seeking Susan last night, got quite emotional with all the 80s nostalgia 😅

I've had a chilled out day, lots of iced coffee as it's still very hot here 🥵 but managed a short walk to the shops. I'd usually be in the sea by now having a long swim but as that's out of bounds I'm catching up on messaging and MNing!
