Just WHY do eye glasses get so mucky all the time?

Am I missing a trick?

. I'm not touching the lenses! They are always smudging and it's driving me mad! I'm forever cleaning them!

IKR it does drive me insane. Lens wipes are the way forward - cleaning them dry just doesn't cut it. Or if you're just out of the shower and they're all steamed up that's a good time to wipe them.

I use my ultra-sonic jewellery cleaner for glasses with microfibre cloth wipes in the interim.

The spray you get from the optician was a total game changer for me. Works a lot better than water. The lass there told me the more you use it the better because it builds up the scratch proof surface or something.

Now. If I could just remember where on earth I've put it...!

It's not just me!!!
I was just reading another thread about face oil and could only think of the blurry world I would descend into if I used it.
An optician gave me a top tip to always pour water over your specs before cleaning them. That way all the dust is washed off rather than ground into your lenses by the cloth.

I also found out the hard way not to put glasses cleaning cloths through the wash as fabric conditioner = smears.

This, absolutely. The anti-glare coating is awful for making lenses look dirty.

Yes, I really don't think I'll bother with it next time. I mean if I'm outdoors where glare is a nuisance, I'm likely to be driving, and I almost always have fitover sunglasses on regardless.

You just reminded me of something my sister said - WHY do they make the lids of lens spray bottles transparent, so you can't see them when you've taken your specs off? 😂
