I was in France, i hadn't a clue what was happening. Didn't fully have the language, it was like a film. Watching a doc now, bringing it all back.

They normally show the documentary’s around the anniversary. Some of the stories stay with me.

One documentary I watched interviewed a man whose wife died on one of the planes. She was pregnant at the time too. Poor man lost everything.

Another flight had some school age kids on a National Geographic trip. One poor young boy was scared of flying and it was his first flight. Only a child.

Another one was a woman who asked her sister to rearrange her shift as cabin crew. She was originally off duty on 911 but changed it to meet her sister. She died with her boyfriend who was also cabin crew -changed he’d his shift too. He had a young daughter from a previous relationship.

I'd just finished school. A friend phoned me and asked if I'd heard about this

Me and DH have just been in New York on a cruise. A lot of people asked us before we left the UK if we were going to visit the 9/11 site and museum? We both felt that we couldn't, even though it has been 20 years since the attack.

During a coach tour we travelled round past the new buildings which have been erected on the 9/11 site and our guide (who was extremely good) explained a lot about the regeneration of the site, the Memorial etc. He told us one thing that really stuck with us and actually brought us all on the coach to tears. He said that if you go to the Memorial where all the names are engraved of those who died, and you see a white rose laid against a name, that means that it would have been that persons birthday. It is something that is done by the NY Parks Department. Our guide said that there were many people who died who may not have had family or loved ones, and they do this to show that they are remembered and loved. So very moving.

At school. Heard something whilst on the computers, then someone told me on the way home. Had no idea what the twin towers were. Watched them collapse on the news at home.
