Slug babies (TW pic of slugs)

I was putting my washing out this morning and saw what I thought was a pile of cat poop. On closer inspection, it's a slug family!

I have only ever seen fully formed slugs (of varying sizes) before. Hadn't really thought about how they reproduced. I am surprised they are out in such an exposed spot though. Maybe it was an emergency delivery?

I interrupted two slugs shagging in my garden the other day. I'm afraid I killed them both (by snipping them in half -quicker and kinder than slug pellets), my garden has too many slugs already.

When uninterrupted, they produce a pile of translucent eggs looking like tiny bubbles.
