What would you send 24yo nephew who's about to start exams? Not brownies - ideally healthy!

Just that really ... I've done brownies lots and he's said he is on a health kick now....So something that he'll enjoy and bring a smile to his face

Cinema vouchers as a post-exam treat? 😊

GameOverBoys · 10/08/2023 16:16

Starbucks vouchers or book voucher

loveyouradvice · 10/08/2023 18:01

Really fancy sending him something edible to munch on while he's studying hard....

coloursquare · 10/08/2023 18:09

He might actually be hinting that he doesn't want any more edibles (sorry!)

painochocolate · 10/08/2023 18:12

Popcorn.

Or yeah maybe he doesn't want more food

Turmerictolly · 10/08/2023 18:19

Mmm, I also think this might be a hint not to send edibles. How about sending a small piece of fitness equipment. When studying, my ds likes to take a breather by doing a few weights/pull ups on a door bar.

BarbaraV · 10/08/2023 18:25

Nice big water bottle or something? Sounds like he doesn't want food.

toastofthetown · 10/08/2023 18:25

Depending on his preferences and set up, some nice coffee beans or ground coffee? I agree with the other posters that he doesn’t want edible snacks, and his health kick could be anything from carnivore diet to raw vegan.

UpAndAwayyy · 10/08/2023 18:54

Why you trying to feed the lad up?! He clearly just lobs them straight in the bin and hates having to do that.

Christ. Take the hint!

boomtickhouse · 10/08/2023 19:17

Money. That's all.

caringcarer · 10/08/2023 19:26

A basket of fresh fruit.

Is it clear that he lobs them straight in the bin?

But that's impossible because you don't know his diet plan. Send him fruit and he will be annoyed if he's low carb. Send him cheese and he will get annoyed if he's low fat. Etc etc. Just send him money and tell him to treat himself!

loveyouradvice · 10/08/2023 22:08

Coffee is a great idea - and he's a man who loves edibles. He's not going mega-health-kick just eating a bit more healthily - his sister reckoned I should still send him brownies because he loves all things chocolate!!

I'm thinking - coffee - mixed nuts - a good cheese (I know he loves) and reckon I'll have to put it together myself but that's okay... Had hoped to just press a few buttons and have someone else deliver!! And might pop in a couple of smaller chocolatey things which feels like a good approach... healthy chocolate!!

UpAndAwayyy · 11/08/2023 09:26

If you're determined to feed him then a voucher for muscle foods. If they're still going. Cheese and nuts are hardly going to fit in with whatever health kick he's on.

If I'd gone so far as to request no brownies then I'd probably be hoping they wouldn't send food at all tbh.

Sarvanga38 · 11/08/2023 09:28

How about some Graze boxes - can be a decent mix of healthy with perhaps a bit of chocolate in there.

Whataretheodds · 11/08/2023 09:32

He's a grown man who's told you he's in a health kick. Why are you determined to send him food?

cruffinsmuffin · 11/08/2023 09:44

I was about to suggest graze boxes like PP - they do lots of great little snack items, not too sure if class them as healthy but perhaps more healthy than a brownie 😂

It seems a bit unkind to me too. Like she's totally disregarded what he asked.

TriedTurningItOff · 11/08/2023 11:23

Oh for goodness sake ...OP please ignore some of the goady and unhelpful comments on here.

I completely understand the urge to send edible treats. How about nuts, especially luxury like pistachios? Or making him some health bars instead of brownies ? There are loads of recipes on the internet.

You sound a lovely aunt😘

UpAndAwayyy · 11/08/2023 11:34

Nothing goady and unhelpful about pointing out that he's specifically asked her not to and told her why. But congrats on understanding the urge to send "treats" Confused

continentallentil · 11/08/2023 11:42

I would check what his health kick is, so you don’t send something he won’t eat

Protein bars - Barebells are nicest
little packets of spicy nuts - graze etc
popcorn
little packets of chorizo / jerky

Or get him a weekly fruit box from one of the box companies

Or a delivery of healthyish freezer meals from cook

coloursquare · 11/08/2023 14:39

Why don't you just give him some money and then he can decide what he wants "to munch on when studying"....if anything!!

uncomfortablydumb53 · 11/08/2023 16:46

Box of Kind bars or any other sort of natural snack bars
A chilly bottle.. you can have initials engraved free

MsChatterbox · 11/08/2023 16:53

Really nice trail mix 😋. Perfect snack for when you're busy and need something filling and sugary but not too unhealthy. You could make up a big tub. I like to do hazelnuts, cashews, almonds, mixed dried fruit, extra raisins and chocolate chips (both milk and dark) and it's so delicious 😍
