Is this exzema?

Can someone please help?!

MY little girl is 5 I've been to the doctors and they told me this looked like heat irritation, its literally only on her one foot and she has a small patch on her other foot.

Could this be exzema, its seems to be getting worse. I've used aveeno cream and it helps for a little while.

I will be calling doctors again as I'm not happy.

Is this exzema?

It could well be, eczema is just a form of dermatitis. It could be an allergy - has she been barefoot outside, or walking through long grass in sandals or crocs for example. Is it itchy.
Perhaps try a pharmacist. They may be able to give you a very mild steroid and you can see if that helps If it itches, Piriton is good.

Hard to tell from the photo but it could be. What’s she had on her feet as it seems to be following the line of socks or shoes.

Faygs1191 · 09/08/2023 19:55

Shes always playing outside without shoes on, she saying it doesn't itch aswell which is really odd and making me wonder. But Just doesn't seem.to be getting better

Yh the doctor said it could be from shoes as she lives in her crocs but I've changed her shoes the last couple of days and no change.

My eczema often doesn’t itch unless it’s really dry and aveeno will be helping with that. slap some sudocrem on it and make sure she wears shoes outdoors.

Faygs1191 · 09/08/2023 20:02

Ahh see I thought exzma always itched. And she just tells me it's sore. Not itchy. Ooo can I use sudocream on that aswell as aveeno? X

Why are you 'not happy'? It's a small red rash, you need to use aveeno as much as you can, like 10 times daily minimum for it to really help. You can't just put it on and then moan because it 'keeps coming back'! The next thing a GP will suggest is steroid cream which you should try and avoid unless it's really causing problems. Don't let her play outside barefoot, and if it's not bothering her, just leave it alone!

YouAndMeAndThem · 09/08/2023 20:20

It could be fungal if it's to do with shoes too. But it will take longer than a day to go away.

Faygs1191 · 09/08/2023 20:21

Wow what a really lovely helpful reply. I'm not 'moaning' it keeps coming back I've been using aveeno for weeks hence why I went to the doctors in the first place. If you have nothing useful to say please get of my post and stop with the silly comments.

I'm fully aware it will take longer to go away, im also fully aware if it's exzema it won't just 'gp away' I simply asked for advice as I'm not happy this is just a heat irritation, i used to get heat rashes all the time as a child and it never looker like that

Faygs1191 · 09/08/2023 20:26

EDIT:

she hasn't just had this 'small red rash' for one day and I've come on here 'moaning' she's had it for a little while (weeks) which is why I took her to the doctors. The cream they gave me didn't work so I've been using aveeno again. And it does help. I don't just use it once a day wither I smoother her feet in it daily. I was just looking for advice as whether this could be exzma.

It looks like eczema caused by contact with some sort of allergen.

Faygs1191 · 09/08/2023 21:10

Yes that would make sense, but all I can think of is shoes or socks, she plays on grass alot but not that recently. I noticed the sand at the beach irritated it loads today

Porridge oats in an old pair off tights. Run under the bath tap. Bath in that oaty water instant relief and reduced redness.
worked for me. It really does work.
best wishes

My son has very severe eczema, tried just about every cream and emollient going with not much improvement. Hydrocortisone was good but really try to avoid it if possible, best thing we have ever used is bio oil, ot worked wonders 😊
