Pimp my wendyhouse

I've bought DD a wooden wendyhouse for her birthday - its on route currently...does anyone have any inspiration or ideas to make it more fun.

Any must have or little additions to make it really nice?

Thats sweet, I really like wendy houses.
My girls have one as it was in the house when we moved in but it really needed painting.
Ours is kind of like a short shed, so wooden slats and we painted it stripey.
Their favourite things about ours are
the shutters on the window (they like to pretend its a shop and also like to dramatically close the shutters on 'rude' customers faces)
Similarly I put tiny curtains in the window and they like to swish them dramatically closed.
When they were littler they liked the letterbox and posting random crap through to each other.

Personally I like that it came with a little door number so it looks like a proper little house

Curtains. Easily installed using hooks and cable like those used on net curtains.

Vinyl flooring. I used the self adhesive tiles from poundshop.

Bunting and fairy lights inside.

a small bell to hang outside for visitors

We also have a wood toy box painted and sone scatter cushions on top. A small toy kitchen unit and plastic table and chairs.

I painted outside in a cornflower blue and inside in a pale blue.

As above. Plants outside bedside the door. Bunting. Up lights at ground level from the front so she can see it in the dark. A desk with books and pencils and paper. A wooden kitchen. A comfy chair.

My son has turned his into an ice cream shop! Lots of ice cream accessories, toy till, posters on the walls. It’s very cute.

We had a white picket fence built around the Wendy house and a cobbled path to the door. We planted miniature apple trees in the garden.

That was 15 years ago and the children have long outgrown it but it still looks pretty.

I'd been looking at flooring...didn't consider poundland!

Curtain fabric added to my ebay basket haha.

What paint did you use?

The cuprinol colours I think its called. The shades I used were cornflower and coastal mist I think? They have some lovely shades now as the range has expanded.

I've ordered some cuprinol and went wild looking at poundland (I didn't know they had a website:D )

Curtains, fairylights, bunting and lanterns.

That's how I pimped my garden shed anyway! Well, it's actually a small summerhouse but I use it as a shed.
