Is this possible? I always thought that would be way too young. Just for some information, he is what would be called high functioning, no learning difficulties. I am interested because this woman tends to think she knows it all and this just seems a little extreme to me, but happy to be told if I'm wrong

Sometimes I think there should be something called middle functioning autism for people without cognitive needs but who are more severe than someone whose autism is more controlled.

In America they have levels so 1 for those who have few if any support needs
2 for those who have moderate support needs and 3 for those who need 1: 1 support all the time but it's a mine field and the language around autism and and support needs is always very fraught.

It's not possible for a clinical diagnosis at that age.

I worked as part of a diagnostic team, (now retired). We did not make appointments for children under 18 months. It’s absolutely pointless.
