What's your favourite Leonard Cohen song?

I've recently rekindled my love for Leonard Cohen and am playing a lot of his music. I think my favourite song is Suzanne. What's yours?

Stranger Song, saw him live and it was amazing!

Last week actually! It recently reopened after years of renovation. I think they’ve done a really good job of it; they’ve tried to retain something of its character and atmosphere whilst at the same time making it into a classy place to stay. There are artworks by current and past tenants on all the walls - a real eclectic mix. I loved it.

There’s a documentary called ‘Dreaming Walls’ currently available on Amazon Prime which I found really interesting, about the permanent residents and their lives there, and how they’ve coped with the renovation and change of management. Fascinating.

It's too hard to just choose one but perhaps Famous Blue Raincoat or Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye.

But my favourite line from a LC song comes from Everybody knows:
But there were so many people you just had to meet
Without your clothes
And everybody knows

and always makes me smile.

I saw him in concert a few years ago. Mesmerising.

So many. Really reminds me of my late DH and all the travels we had accompanied by LC’s music. Maybe Tower of Song, Dance Me to the End of Love (though I’d be in floods if I listened to that now), or Suzanne. Even though I’ve always thought that tea and oranges don’t really go together.

Omg so many. Thank you for this thread. I was lucky enough to see him live twice, and this has reignited the flame, I’m going to be listening to him exclusively for the next few days and trying to find some appropriate recommendations for DD age8. Everybody knows is fantastic, but so are pretty much all his songs from all his eras.

Never heard any of songs before but someone chose “Everybody Knows” on Desert Island Disc’s and it’s now on my playlist.

My favourite changes depending on where I am in my life and relationships/emotions. Such an incredible talent and man. I'm having a great wallow in his music now! Thanks for the thread. 😍

I saw him at the O2 also and Birmingham, managed to get a seat at Birmingham on the aisle about six rows back from the stage so could go right down the front for the encores, loved him singing Closing Time. I was also amazed how he knelt down so long and got up so easily for some of the songs, I'm sure I couldn't do that and I was quite a few years younger than he was

Another vote for Famous Blue Raincoat from me but I'm going to look up some of the nominations on here that I haven't yet heard.

I only recently learned that Jarvis Cocker is a big Cohen fan and as a huge Pulp fan this makes a lot of sense and seems so obvious now. Both amazing storytellers more than anything else.

I can't pick just one but my top 3 are Take This Waltz, Alexandra Leaving and Famous Blue Raincoat.
