Where to start finding goals to set myself?

I'm great at breaking projects down and working out the steps to get to my over all goal, but right now I'm all out of ideas of goals to set myself! Anyone got any recommendations of books or blogs or MN threads or anywhere else that gives them ideas?

I'm looking for ideas of something to learn doing to (at the risk of sounding a bit much) enrich my leisure time 😃 We've been flat out, no time to ourselves in a very intensive caring situation for a few years now and we've finally found the right safe place for them. So I'm suddenly going to have time to focus on myself - and after having no time at all, I'm flummoxed where to start! I've got 6 months yet, but want a plan put together before that.

Back when I had free time (sighs like the old lady I am 😁) I used to enjoy reading, papercutting, calligraphy, tv box sets, yoga, Pilates and that dance exercise class at the gym (can't remember the name). Haven't done much of any of that for aaaaages, as have spare time spent catching up with life admin, doing the family time thing as much as possible and napping 😴

Obviously napping is an excellent hobby to continue, and exercise is a definite something I'm going to have to pay more attention to, but any ideas where on earth to start with other things to do?

Depends on whether you want to expand on things you already enjoy or start something completely new?

You could learn a language on Duolingo and set yourself a level to reach on there (they are numbered), for fitness have a goal of steps a day or to run a certain race, do an art class and aim to do a portrait at the end, do an acting class...so many things!

Yes so many things I don't know where to start to choose one 🤯😁

Duolingo sounds good - maybe I could brush up my old GCSE Latin, I think I'd enjoy that. Fun but educational 😁

Hmm, have artists in the family and struggle to draw things that are recognisable ... maybe a different creative challenge. How hard is dress making I wonder?

They have Latin on Duolingo. I had a go thinking I could leap up several levels I have an A level in it, but only managed to skip 2 levels! I could barely remember anything.

I went through a sewing machine phase, bought a cheap one and a how-to book. I made a few things but didn't persevere enough to get the hang of it.

Oh dear, if you could only skip 2 levels, I'll be starting from scratch!

That interesting about making a few items. I've always admired those cushions with pictures on made of other bits of fabric - must find out the proper name for it and see how hard it would be.

I'm excited talking about these things, it will do me so much good to stretch myself for something I want to do Just Because 😃
