Dental implants - looking for good names around London

I need to have an implant for my front tooth urgently. Tooth underneath crown had fractured and it fell off last week. I had it temporarily cemented back, but it's wobbly again, and I am in dear need of a good specialist in or around London. Don't mind traveling if it's an hour or so.

If you had success with dental implant, especially if it lasted 10 years or more, I would love to hear who you went to. Or anyone you can recommend via friends or family route.

Many thanks in advance for all suggestions.

Oh thanks very much Razzlefrazzle. I would love to know the name of the doctor you went to, thank you. Don't mind traveling, and Hove is not far. So glad it worked out brilliantly for you. Were they your front or back teeth?

The Doctor who did both my implants is Bill Schaeffer. His bio is on their website. Really professional and caring. Their after care is really good too with annual check ups and emergency cover for a monthly fee. Both of mine are back teeth.

The waiting between the post going in and the tooth being fitted is to allow the bone to heal properly round the post and ensure you have the best chance of a successful and long term solution. I would seriously not recommend anyone who is happy to do it all in one day.

I've had one of my front teeth replaced after an accident.

I needed the tooth out, a bone graft to fill the hole, then a denture for six months, then the post in and another six month wait with the denture, then finally the tooth fitting. There were other complications, because of the way my jaw is shaped I had to have another bone graft in under my nose as the post wouldn't have stayed within the jaw bone without it. The surgery changed the shape of my jaw and meant I had to learn to talk again.

Honestly it's not a quick fix, it's a long term investment in your face.

I paid about £6.5k all in, as I needed sedation due to extreme anxiety. The guy I went to see was an orthopaedic surgeon as well as a dentist. He's in Bristol if you want to go that far.
