Posting for traffic but who would do the referral, GP or breast surgeon?

Long story short, my cousin (who is a dermatologist and saw during my holiday in Spain) diagnosed my bleeding warts in my inverted nipple as papillomatosis, most likely to be HPV and given I a) have inverted nipples that act like a mucous membrane b) have an active cervical HPV infection with precancerous lesions, it makes sense to be related

She took a biopsy and I'm awaiting results.

She suggested I request an inter disciplinary team as it's an uncommon diagnosis.

I still got to see another breast surgeon who happens to be the head of the department. The first one I saw openly said she didn't know what it was.

So would refer me to a dermatologist? My GP or the breast surgeon? I also think it would be good to have a biopsy on file over here.

Do you normally live in the UK? I would assume your GP would be your first step. You can provide them with the information from your relative.

In the Uk a GP would refer you, I saw a consultant privately recently and they needed my Gp to refer before I could make an appointment.

The private hospital also had their own GP that I could have seen if I had wanted.

Yes, I normally live in the UK, but have no team trust in GPs, so always end up complaining and getting referred (my husband swears my file has a note saying I'm a difficult patient).

I'm also a patient at the Macmillan Centre at UCLH, but the Macmillan nurse didn't think the hematologist could refer me internally.
