School holiday treats on a tight budget

Just noticed this morning that Vue cinemas have “mini morning” tickets for their 10am showings during the school holidays. Both adult and kid tickets are only £2.49 each. That’s me sorted for tomorrow morning with my 2 grandchildren.

That's great. I realise it depends what's happening in people's specific areas but I have also found cheap activities in: -

Local libraries
Art galleries
Theatres - The theatre and art gallery have had "Pay what you can events"
Museums - Lots of craft activities, with cheaper prices if you're on a lower income
and also a local university had free stuff going on, for older kids.

I'm only posting this because it was MN that made me check out the art galleries. Someone else might not have thought of these places, or be aware that their prices aren't always high for activities.

What’s the local area like and how old are the little ones any woodland at all?

If so go on a nature walk spotting plants and animals and maybe pick up stuff to make a collage at home. I loved doing crafts with mine, made a paper mache zoo for all their little toy animals. Stuff like that is free.
