Any dentists around- my crown has fallen off and I'm abroad :(

Posting here for traffic: we're in Spain, flying back tomorrow evening and my crown suddenly fell out of my mouth about an hour ago as I was eating. I've managed to save the crown but my tooth is ripping my tongue to shreds. What should I do to stop the bleeding? I've managed to schedule an emergency appointment with my dentist on Wednesday but how do I manage teeth brushing, eating, talking in the mean time?

Ps. Only had the crown fitted two months ago after a complicated root canal :((((

you can buy temporary filling material in the pharmacy to put over the stump

Make sure that you brush it well and if possible use an antiseptic mouthwash to make sure that it doesn't get infected in between times.

Local dentists may be able to give you a temporary crown.

This might not be ideal but when it happened to me and I was desperate I used a babybel outer, the red stuff. I moulded a small amount over the sharp edges just to stop it hurting my tongue...

I will send my husband out while I'm putting DC to bed. I can hardly talk and feeling so guilty.

Wrap it in chewing gum so it doesn't cut. You could walk into any dentist in Spain. I live there they have the best treatment and it's substantially cheaper than the UK. They should be able to recement it

When they recement it in this country it shouldn't cost anything as it should be under guarantee. I lost a big filling (which included a remodelled bit of tooth so vulnerable) after 6 months and it was free (NHS) as they are guaranteed for a year
