Is it ok to have lots of days in the house with kids?

I know it's a daft question but I feel kinda bad that we haven't really done much over the summer. We haven't had an actual holiday as such but had a few days out. My kids seem happy being in the house and being off school in itself is great (they say)

I just feel so guilty

Just be thankful not camping.. With 60 mph winds on south coast and wash outs.

Oh, and my parents. I definitely will not be stuck in a caravan in the rain with them.

I'll pray for you soggy.
But if the worst happens you can pull on the famous mn hot choclate to fill several hours and ease all weather osib7.

When I was ten, I distinctly remember trying to reason with my parents that we had PAID for the holiday cottage, therefore we weren't getting as good value for money from it by going out for walks every day into the country, which was just sitting there for free.

I think I just really wanted a day reading, watching telly and playing card games.

I did not succeed.

Thank you. We are the hardy out in the rain for a walk types in principle… except one kid has asd and can’t do wet fabric; and I use an electric wheelchair so rain means my voluminous wheelchair covering poncho so a) I can’t see from under the hood and I crash into things, causing the child with asd to ask loudly ‘are you drunk again mama? Are you going to get stuck in a bin again? and b) I look a total tit and the one with asd will point this out. Loudly and repeatedly 🤦‍♀️

And non of the little (or big) sods will drink hot chocolate!

Grin genius argument though!

Soggy..

I'm positive.

Positive by next week there will be no more rain in the sky to wring out over the UK. Also by the law of averages it won't be possible to rain. continually at least. 🙏

And I'd get those plastic poncho to go over clothes.

@Anna79ishere the average age for starting work in the 19th century was around 9-10 years old. I'm not sure working their little fingers to the bone in factories, digging in the mines, being thrashed by their employers or going up chimneys could really be claimed as fabulous out and about time, I'm fairly sure those kids would rather have been sitting at home with an Xbox. Luckily life expectancy was only about 40 years old so they didn't have too much time to mull on being child labourers before they died!
