Asking for friend . She's traveled alone (Afghanistan,Bali,) in her twenties. Lived in Paris , holidayed as single parent with 2 children in India.
She realises not the same now and as an older person.
She enjoys walking.
Where to go?
I've suggested the Spanish Camino but suspect too spiritual (no offence intended, can you be too spiritual?) , too mainstream to appeal to her non conformist nature.
Please help.🙏

I'm in my 40s but looking at doing something similar. I'm considering Menorca, Slovenia or the Balkans for a walking break. I would like a combination of walking, sightseeing and relaxing rather than walking every day but have yet to find something that exactly fits the bill. Am on my own and friends not available when I want to go away.

Patagonia has been on my list for a while. The walking is supposed to be stunning. Not sure what it's like to navigate solo.

Nepal trekking (not necess base camp as it's basically landfill) sounds phenomenal as well.

Closer to home, Madeira looks gorgeous and is popular with older folk.

I did an amazing trip with the Gran Canyon Expediton company - rafting down the Colorado River for 8 days, camping overnight and a short hike on many of the days.

I also loved Peru and the Inca trail (various options available), I followed up with a few days in the Amazon jungle with lots of wildlife walks.

Inca trail is incredible, altitude might affect her though as it did me so need to take your time, sounds like she has time though. Nepal is amazing, the Nepalese are wonderful Interesting about Patagonia.

I’d probably go to Mallorca, great walking, nice places to stay.

slovenia, bavaria, Austrian alps, well waymarked, inexpensive.

further afield….Japan, do the Shikoku shrines walk.

There's a facebook group; WalkingWoman that might be useful. They post some interesting options.
