Corporate/Office Heels with a bunion

I’ve got quite a few corporate work events and conferences coming up and need to dress quite smartly. I’ve been very content over the last couple of years wfh and in our regional office in flats/sandals. I really want to wear heels to these events as I think they finish off my outfits - plus I’m a short a*se..

I have a bunion on one foot which after a day in my Next heels really starts to ache. Can anyone recommend a good make or brand which won’t look orthopaedic, look smart and comfortable?

Would one of those correctors help to cushion and straighten the foot do you think?

Gingerbeerfear · 28/07/2023 18:12

Possibly but I’m wondering if it might add bill and be visible? Could give it a go. I have wide flat feet too which doesn’t help.

Do you need to wear heels? A smart trouser suit and fashion trainers could work?

I had a similar problem and got a pair in Clarks outlet with flexible upper part of shoe. Very comfortable and lasted all day.

Clarks shoes I find good for comfort and they have wide fittings.

I have exactly the same problem when I go in. I either make most of my trips in the winter and wear boots, or I've finally given in and bought some platform Superga trainers and wear with dresses.

I'm in a male dominated environment and am under 5 foot so don't like wearing flats. Had my first bunion cut off as a young teen. It grew back.

Calla Shoes

Some of the taller women in the team wear smart flats but I can’t pull off the look at all! It’s silly really I just like to wear a nice court shoe with my dress and blazer. No official rule as such, definitely smart corporate while there.

Second sole bliss - quite stylish shoes but specifically designed for foot complaints such as bunions

continentallentil · 28/07/2023 18:43

Fit flop do good heeled boots, probably do do some shoes

I like Fox London - they are a little / eccentric / chunky / miss marple so maybe not corporate enough but comfortable.

Clarkes chunky heels used to be good

Places like Ecco often do one ‘heeled pump’ (😁) but you know in black it might be fine

continentallentil · 28/07/2023 18:44

I have wide feet and dodgy arches rather than bunions BTW, but comfortable shoes are my jam

Gingerbeerfear · 28/07/2023 20:13

Sole Bliss looks really good, I’m going to see if I can find a cheap pair on Vinted to check the sizing. My feet seem to have got bigger and flatter by half a size - that or shoes have shrunk 🤔.

It’s such a big thing because until lunch I’m ok and then after lunch my foot is throbbing and it’s hard to think about work. Thanks everyone x

Sole Bliss are worth every penny. I've had a few pairs off Ebay and they are soo comfortable

Did you find any @Gingerbeerfear I have the exact same issue and will need to wear heels once or twice a week this for the next few month. Worried about making my bunion worse but also given my height feel I need to wear heels / dress / blazer in some work settings!
