Sensory School Shoes

Not sure if this is the right place for this but I just need some advice on School Shoes for my 5 y/o daughter. She has sensory issues when it comes to school shoes.

She likes them to be SUPER tight to the point where she will cut her feet if they aren't tight enough and give herself blisters. She gets herself in such a state about it and sometimes leaving the house is hard. Trainers are the same. She will happily wear crocs and the croc sandals are tolerable but other than that she really cannot stand loose shoes on her feet (even if they aren't loose!). She would prefer to be bare foot 24/7 given half a chance.

Does any one else have a LO with these sorts of feelings about their footwear and any recommendations for shoes please?

I don't have any recommendations but wondered if a super tight sock could help? Sorry if that's way off base. Maybe a lace or Velcro so she could pull it tighter.

My DC have to wear 'indoor shoes' at school, which can be crocs - have you asked the school if crocs are acceptable?

I can't help with the 'tight' feeling but if she would prefer to be barefoot then what about minimalist or zero drop shoes? I'm not much of a fan of shoes either but have to wear them and I've found my feet are happiest in minimalist shoes. Your foot is completely flat (zero drop) and the soles are much thinner and more flexible than ordinary shoes.

Yes dgd is the same, they have to be secure, enclosed and not heavy. She managed OK with some t bar ones from startite in the summer and some Geox and kickers enclosed ones in the winter. Her sensory needs don't go as far as finding all shoes upsetting, as long as they are securely on her foot and feel light she is fine. Last year she was admired a friends lelli kelly dolly shoes but we knew not to even go their.
