Newborn suddenly not feeding so well

Hi all - DD (2 weeks old) is EBF and up until the last few days was feeding really well. She was born very small at 36+5 and everyone seemed quite happily surprised that she was latching on easily, feeding on demand, and had exceeded her birth weight by her first midwife appointment.

Fast forward to the last few days and she suddenly seems a bit out of sorts, particularly around feeding - thrashing her arms and head around a lot, alternating between really short and long feeds (minutes to almost 2 hours) and suffering with a very blocked nose on and off. Yesterday in particular she had to be prompted to feed and was then putting her hands in front of the breast and resisting, crying a lot, and must have spat up about 20 times, when before that she'd never really done that.

I spoke to our GP who asked to have a look over her and said she didn't have any immediate concerns but to look out for dehydration. Since then DD has carried on with only very short feeds (a few mins to max 15) prompted by me and is grimacing and putting her hands in her mouth a lot.

Googling is pointing me towards reflux. Does that sound possible? I'm struggling a bit as it seems to have come on so suddenly after things being fine and she just doesn't seem gappy. Also feel quite a big responsibility to keep her weight up and get her on track after she had to come early (I had pre-eclampsia and the placenta was failing).

Thanks for sticking with all that and for any insight on similar experiences!

Do you have any breastfeeding clinics with your local health visitiors? I found my HVs much much much more helpful with bF than gp. After much searching I found a bf ”cafe” here which I went to weekly. It was amazing. There were two or three HVs on hand to help with latch, weight and other tips. It was a life saver. If you’d be interested maybe google your local HV telephone number and they should let you know if there is one. I remember calling the HVs in tears as I felt my bf had gone pear shaped and they were so helpful.
