Touring caravan question

I have an odd question. Can someone tell me how big a touring caravan fridge is and how much it can store?

We are going to a sporting event soon. We have hired a 4 berth touring caravan that will be onsite ready for us. Once you're onsite, unless its an emergency, they don't let you off with the car. There is a shop/tent there with some basics and also a village shop you can walk to a few miles away but id rather be prepared and take some food with me. I just don't know the capacity of one of these fridges. I do know it has a little freezer compartment at the top so I am ok for ice for my gin!

No worries, I did have a photo of our fully stocked beer fridge when we last took it out but I can’t find it 😂.

This is ours. It all depends on the model of caravan that you will be in. We can store a fair amount in it.

If it has a freezer compartment you could take ice packs and a cool box, or a plug in cool box for extra space of you think everything won't fit. It's amazing what the fridge will hold if you are expert level 3d tetris player though!

Ours will hold enough food for lunch and dinner for 3 or 4 days, if you fit stuff carefully. I mean, I’ve never tried to put a whole chicken in there but it’ll fit enough to keep you going for some while.

We have an older caravan and our fridge is a lot smaller than the ones shown. The freezer footprint is exactly the size of a packet of six Linda McCartney sausages and you could stack maybe three or four packets in there. Hope that makes sense! But it is generally enough for us to take small block of cheese, spreadable butter, some fruit, milk, olives, salad items, San Pellegrino drinks for the children and little tins of tonic for us.

It would be fab to have a fridge this size but i am pretty sure its one of the small ones.

I have a small fridge in mine so I bring my portable plug in cooler, it plugs into the car for the journey and then into the caravan while we're away. It's got three settings: cold/freeze/heat. I've only ever used cold and its really good. There are lots of sizes available and really handy for days out and picnics.

Varies massively from caravan to caravan

Thanks. I think I’ll look at one of those as a back up.

You could always take an overflow cool box. If you freeze your fruit juices/ some bottles of water they will keep it cold for days, and you don't need to feel bad about taking them out to make room for anything else you need to put in.
