Organic whole milk

None of the shops walking distance to me (asda, Sainsbury's local, Aldi) carry organic whole milk, they have organic semi skimmed, or regular whole. I buy it for the kids, who aren't supposed to have semi as far as I know, so have to have it delivered from the big shop further away.
I appreciate demand for it is less, but it's not none! Anyone know what the reason might be?

How old are the children?

Not enough demand I’d guess. Particularly in the smaller stores. Our Sainsburys local doesn’t sell almond milk either. First world problems.

It’s often difficult to source near us . We all have whole milk when we can

Children are 8 and 2. It's not a 'problem', I'm not crying into my latte about it, I'm asking a question in a chat forum because Im curious about why this common food is not more widely stocked.
If the thinking is that people who care about health and nutrition and the environment would prefer to buy organic food, then why isn't there a similar demand for organic whole as there is semi. Just idle curiosity

We get ours from a milk delivery which I appreciate we're lucky to have.

I’m guessing there’s not enough demand for it. I noticed after lockdown that it’s become almost impossible to buy a bottle of 6 pints of whole milk where I am. I now buy two 4 pints which is more expensive not to mention the extra plastic waste that goes with it!

Can you not order from able&cole?

CatsSnore · 26/07/2023 18:48

I order organic whole milk from milk and more.

bananamum13 · 26/07/2023 21:37

Why not order from a local dairy/farm? Then you get rid of the supermarket middlemen completely

bananamum13 · 26/07/2023 21:37

That's a genuine question, but I don't live in a city

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 26/07/2023 21:39

We get doorstep delivery and even they have struggled to source organic whole so we're back to non organic. Not much of an idea why - perhaps the organic milk supply is getting limited so the whole is used more for cream, butter etc?

dementedpixie · 26/07/2023 21:41

They can have semi skimmed from age 2 if they have a good diet

biddyboo · 26/07/2023 21:44

Our local Lidl and Aldi only stock semi-skimmed organic milk. I buy organic whole milk from co-op. I find even the smaller ones stock it.

dullandgrey · 26/07/2023 21:56

I bought some yesterday in Sainsbury's, whole milk organic. In a blue and brown cardboard carton.

custardcreamandtea · 26/07/2023 21:58

After two, semi skimmed is fine.
