French supermarket / must have / tips?

Bon matin🇫🇷

I’m in Brittany on holiday this week and am off to the ‘big’ supermarket later.

Are there any must have items I should be bringing home that I can’t get in England?

Particularly thinking of things like toiletries, kitchen cupboard staples, amazing chocolate brands or treats..

Already planning to bring home some jambon, cheese and wine in the cool box (we have the car) but would love to hear any top tips for French brands 💙🤍♥️

Breton gateau - although best eaten warm from the bakers 😋

It's great homemade, Nigella has a good recipe.

I remember the most amazing soft/cream cheese with walnuts, in little packs in cheese aisle, can't remember the brand (not boursin) omg delish on fresh baguette. Do try it if you can find it.

The brand is Rambol. It used to be available in the supermarkets here but not for a few years. You can buy it online from a few U.K. cheese shops but it’s £6 as opposed to €3 in a French supermarket. We came back at the end of June with a large supply. Sadly now finished 😞

This stuff with the pamplemousse rosé sirop. Am waiting for hot weather again to have it with tonic. Don't know how I've missed this before in France but it's delicious.

Also available in Waitrose

Ooh thanks for reminding me of the name! I might try and find some as a little treat, even though it's v expensive. So yum on baguette
