And I still can’t decide what to do with my bedroom. do I go all white and go all out with coloured accessories or do I go stick with my original plan of dark green forest green. issue is there is hardly my storage so half the room is wardrobes. I love the panelling look but worried it may date.

We can’t afford a holiday this year so was thinking to get a bedroom I love would help a little.

If you’re undecided go white

SlideandPolka · 25/07/2023 23:55

But what do you mean by ‘all white’ or forest green — wall paint? Wallpaper? Fake panelling? And you say half the room is wardrobes — are you painting these the wall colour?

I’m not sure the dark green is going to be as luxurious as you think with those wardrobes.
get a warm white on the walls. Dress it with curtains, bed linen and cushions

Easy refit stapling new fabric to headboard, big picture on chimney wall

GardeningIdiot · 26/07/2023 00:11

Dark Green will surely feel claustrophobic?

Yajebbend · 26/07/2023 00:12

I think you are right the hotel bedroom I am hoping for isn’t going to happen! Yep a warm white sounds like. Good plan nice and fresh and I can change duvet cover and accessories to give it a luxurious feel I want

Dark green would be dreadful. You would regret it immediately.

JaffacakeJanine · 26/07/2023 00:16

Go dark green, so much fun, and will be dark and cosy 🥰🥰

Yajebbend · 26/07/2023 00:16

I had this type colour in my head but I am hopeless!

I think I know what you’re after with the dark moody room, but with the opposite wall as you walk in being pale wardrobes and window I don’t think it will work

Yajebbend · 26/07/2023 00:19

I’m struggling to add photos

OP posts:
Bluesheeps · 26/07/2023 00:22

Bluesheeps · 26/07/2023 00:22

Yajebbend · 26/07/2023 00:23

I think I would go dark green as well. However green won’t work well with the grey I don’t think so you’d need to repaint the whole room to get a good look.

Do you have the budget for wallpaper? Whichever colour you go for you could try covering some of the mirrors on the wardrobe with a nice paper, then pick out some colours from the paper to coordinate your accessories.

If you are worried the green will be too dark, how about dark green on the lower half and a complimentary wallpaper above?

Grey and green - no.

Grey is a cool colour and green is warm.

You need to work with what you've got.

So grey carpets/curtains/furniture you need a cool toned colour.

That can still be very rich/deep but needs to work with the grey.

Personally I'd go with a really/really deep dark blue.

Yajebbend · 26/07/2023 01:10

So if I keep the grey carpet md wardrobes does warm white work? I would love blue but feel convinced white is a better option

A cool tone white yes.

Not a warm one.

If you are working with grey you need cool colours (or cool whites).

Save colour for your soft furnishings if you want white walls.
