I've just watched this and feel like I'm absolutely non the wiser.

(it has 20 mins left though)

I mean wtf happened. It's all so bizzare.

How was it not spotted by any other countries if it really flew for 6 hours?

I feel like the USA is involved, seems the most plausible with the handshake pings, FBI suddenly declaring the pilot did a simulation flight after 2 years (false info)

It's just all so weird.

That Jeff guy seems unhinged :/

I had a thread about this documentary a few months ago and sadly the consensus from the aviation community (at least on MN) appeared to be that it could only have been the Captain. I don't want to believe it as it appears he had no motive and he was such a well-respected experienced pilot. It seems so unbelievable that he would commit such a heinous act out of the blue, but apparently it's the only logical explanation.

I really didn't get that vibe from him and it seemed all his colleagues didn't either.

It just seems so weird that in 2014 a plane could just disappear.

And if he did do that and the wreckage found 6 hours away was the MH370 wreckage why were the identification plates removed and only 1 out of 20 serial. Numbers matched that plane?

It's obviously not a very good documentary if you have so many unanswered questions still

When a plane hits the water there will be literally millions of pieces of debris

Why was there hardly any debris ever found or seen?

The plane was glided down on to the water the best it could to avoid disintegrating and from there it slowly sank

This was done so that there would be very little debris which would make it very hard to find

The plane flew along the border of two countries, again this was done on purpose. Because of this positioning neither country had any interest in it and assumed the other country was monitoring it

Look no further than the pilot

The simplest answer is always the most likely. It will have been the pilot.

People get carried away with conspiracy theories. Nicola Bulley for example. The most obvious answer was a tragic accident but people turned into armchair detectives.

What is particularly odd about this case and unlike other murder-suicides by pilots (which are thankfully extremely rare - I actually only know two other cases) is that the plane continued to fly for another 8 hours in the wrong direction before running out of fuel. It seems such an odd thing to do. Normally the pilot would just down the plane very quickly so as not to give the co-pilot or anyone else a chance to overpower him. It suggests that maybe the co-pilot/crew were incapacitated.
