Hi, has anyone upgraded their day tickets to annual passes? Not the Merlin ones, just the Legoland ones. How much did it cost please?

We went at the end of June during term time, on a Friday, no inset days, bank hols around it etc and it was HEAVING!

We went 3 years ago during half term and I swore never again as we only managed to get on two rides. I was begged and begged to go again so I decided we’d go during school term time and just take them out of school for the day. The queues were still over an hour long. I mean it when I say I AM NEVER GOING AGAIN!

The kids loved it though but yeah unless you pay for fast passes it’s not worth it as you just can’t do it

We are booked for a Saturday in the holidays so I will have to see what it's like. For us it's not just about the rides, it's the whole park experience.

We had annual passes for years and they were very worth it for us, but we were local so we didn’t mind not going on rides every time, we’d go to the play parks, splash park, Lego building stations… you get discounts on the shops and restaurants too, so if you’re planning on spending money there, could be worth it even only using it a couple of times.

*disclaimer: we haven’t been in a few years as we moved away, but my DD is a teenager and still talks about going back to Legoland pretty much every holiday, we have very happy memories of the place!

Okay so it's going to be packed. With ride access passes you'll have much lower wait times but still some wait.

Pre-visit - get familiar with how to use the ride access system and work out what are rides you aren't fussed about to ignore

Get familiar with the map - what's next to what so you aren't travelling 10 mins away from something else you might like later

Consider packed lunch - restaurants will also be busy and eat in your time

If you're able to do more than one day in your stay it's worth it imo

Leave the sights till later- yes the park closes when it closes, but you can still walk that way out and get them included

Have an amazing time!

Get fast pass access rather than a annual pass

Windchimeswinter · 23/07/2023 18:59

Also recommend two days for Legoland. One isn't enough even in term time

MissAtomicBomb1 · 23/07/2023 20:17

We went for the first time this year.
I'd echo what some of the previous posters have said. We live a 3 hour drive away so a Merlin pass was a better option as it meant we could do 2 days in the park and use the pass for London eye & other attractions.
We stayed overnight at a travel lodge in Bracknell which was pretty good value.

Our kids enjoyed Lego land but we chose not to go during school holidays they then went another time with my parents in a Easter holiday and hated it the queues and shorter rides. The annual pass wouldn't be worth it unless your going several times a year

Sorry see you're wondering on price on upgrading

No idea for individual parks passes - I pay monthly £15 for both of us (£30) for entire merlin passes so probably cheaper than that. Think it says on website for individual and not sure you can pay monthly if it's just one park annual pass - might be available though!

I've never heard of the merlin pass I might have a look as we have 4 kids and go various places quite often

AutisticLegoLover · 30/07/2023 22:01

I have now got an access pass due to being autistic so I'm hoping it will make a difference. The queue is virtual not physical although there'll still be a bit of a queue but not the same as standing in line for an hour or so.
We are taking a packed lunch due to food issues and that will save time and money.
I'm still non the wiser about how much it costs to upgrade to the annual pass but I'll ask when there.

I hope you and your DS have a fab time.

And, thank you! You just inspired me to book tickets, I've been umming and aahing for ages. They have a summer sale on at the moment, £35 a ticket :)

AutisticLegoLover · 04/08/2023 08:32

The weather looks absolutely pants for our visit now. On the plus side it will be quieter but it's not going to be great if it does rain all day as forecast.

To get annual passes tomorrow you need to take your tickets and ID to guest services. They will deduct the cost of your ticket from the annual pass.

There are different types of annual pass so have a look at the website to see which one is best for you. The cost will be the cost of whichever pass you choose minus the cost of your daily ticket.

AutisticLegoLover · 04/08/2023 09:10

@Gro thank you so much! Considering the weather tomorrow getting the annual pass seems like a sensible idea so we can visit again when the weather is better.
