Please help me plan my long summer so I don't get depressed

I work term time only (school admin) and when it gets to this time of year my heart sinks. Everyone is saying I bet you're counting down or being jealous of such a long holiday but I don't enjoy it. I get bored, lonely and depressed. I feel spoilt saying it but I'm a people person and have a tendency to become too introspective.

So this summer I want to try and find things to keep me occupied. Has anyone got any suggestions?!

Oh OP I feel for you. I used to work in term time years ago. I am not self motivated in the slightest so would just lay in bed doing nothing and then berate myself for wasting my days.

I didn't find a solution, I got a different job and loved not working term time anymore. Plus the holidays are much cheaper outside of it!

I'd volunteer, exercise, go to the library, visit museums, walking, swimming. You could sign up to be a mystery shopper.

@marmitegirl01 that would be nice! Could you pm me as I can't work out how to do it 😂
@CatsSnore you get me! I've always struggled to fill my time. I'm definitely going to make a list and actually do the things on it

I'm feeling the same OP. Daughter is a tween and spends a lot of time in her bedroom (and feel like this is the last summer of doing things with her) and I'm getting a feeling of loneliness. I don't just want to clean all the time- though the house could do with it!

Thinking of doing a one month subscription to a gym, bit of makaton training, long walks (when dp gets home from work) with the dog! Bike rides with the dd if the weather gets any better!

The Londonist website always has a good list of what's on each week, always including free/cheap options as well.
