Just looking for some tips really.
DS is 16 months old. We had mostly day weaned with only feeds to get him to sleep. However, I went away for two nights and then he caught a cold and since then he's been boob obsessed. I can't even hold him at the moment without him pawing at me. I feel like it isn't amazing for his development as he's gone quite babyish again if that make sense? I also have an older DD who I feel bad for as I've gone back to always having to ask her to wait while I feed the baby.
I had previously been happy to keep feeding him as long as he wanted but I'm finding this a LOT at the moment. I'm sure he isn't even getting much as he is constantly twiddling with the other nipple, which I hate.

What happens if you say no? My LO would have a short strop and then could be distracted with a toy/game/snack. Took a few days but they asked less (they didn't want the feed, it was just there).

He's old enough to understand 'no'. I usually explain as 'booby's tired/sleeping'.

On the contrary, this is good for his development as you are responding to his needs - he is under the weather and seeking comfort. I like the pp suggestion of trying distraction etc but maybe wait until he is well again or he will just be miserable? Commiserating on the twiddling. It is to get more milk - induces let down. But i hate it too.

Have a look for Emma Pickett on Instagram. She is an expert on weaning and especially on weaning past 1. She has some great information which you might find useful.
