My son has just finished year 3. I found some test papers. Can anyone tell me what they are and if they indicate a level?

They are all NFER classroom tests
Maths test 1, score 0 maths test 2, score 2

Grammar and punctuation. Score,2

Spelling tests A, score 0

Spelling test B, score 0

Grammer and punctuation. Spring , score 4

Maths test 2 spring , score 5

Reading, summer score 3

Each paper would have around 20 marks in total, so if those are raw ‘scores’ then they would indicate he got 0/20 and 2/20 etc so very low.
It depends whether it is the raw score or something else (a grouping by the teacher perhaps) that you have.
It could be that your child is not quite at year 3 levels (you should know this if so, it shouldn’t be s surprise) and completed a test more suitable to their level separately then had a go at this one too?

Last I knew he was working at year 1 level . But that was last September. I just wondered what theses tests meant .

Sometimes children who are working below their national curriculum level will be given the test at the level they 'should' be working at. It's not fair really as the papers assess things the children have been taught. Someone working at y1 level won't have been taught the spelling rules/ grammar and maths of a y3 child so this will just be stressful for most children.

Also if school has finished they should have provided 1 written report to you this academic year with an indication of his attainment/progress. It's a legal duty

They did. But its totally wrong. Maths ,English says working at expected level. I know that he's not . He's teacher just talks over you so I thought it's better to talk to his new teacher in September.. he does have an EHCP.
