Hi all, im hoping to get tips on curtailing my new job anxiety.

It's a step up, less hours and more money so an absolute no brained but im very nervous. Im nervous of starting a new job, in a new place with new people and being too anxious to take it all in! Im also suffering from the dreaded imposter syndrome 🤦🏻‍♀️

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It would be weird if you didn't feel nervous! It's completely natural to feel this way but you'll only have one first day. Then it'll be the end of the first week and you'll know where the loos are, the names of some of your colleagues and roughly what's expected of you. Before you know it you'll have a month behind you, the first paycheck and you'll be wondering why you were so scared.

Do some box breathing - - whenever you feel a bit overwhelmed. Good luck!!

@overthinkersanonnymus

Im also suffering from the dreaded imposter syndrome

I had that in pretty much every job I've ever had and survived - in fact I thrived because it made me listen, prep properly, focus on what I was doing, make notes on the tasks/information I was given, and joined in/socialised whenever possible. I drew maps of who sat at what desk, and who they reported to.

Look for opportunities to learn more about the company, how the different department/sector etc roles worked to give myself the comfort of knowing how and where my role and my boss's roles fitted in.

Get through the first day, then week, then the first month and before you know it you will have your first six months. You will be fine. Good luck! 🌹
