Is it rude to sleep on public transport?

There are often complaints that people are rude and inconsiderate if they scroll phones or read and don't pay attention to fellow passengers who may need to be offered a seat (but they wouldn't ask).

So is it rude and selfish to be asleep?

Facetiming/video calling with speaker on so I can hear full conversation- Rude

Definitely! Can't stand this.

It is only rude when they doze off and start leaning towards one of the people either side of them. So many times I've had to nudge a bloke for doing that. More often than not they just keep doing it 😡

If you need a seat, open your mouth and ask if no one has noticed you.

I have chronic fatigue, I can’t stop myself falling asleep. I must be the rudest person ever!!

The point on the other thread was about people who sit in priority seats meant for those less able to stand and then studiously ignore anyone who gets on who might need the seat more than them. It wasn't about scrolling/reading generally.

To the poster who said sleeping is rude and It can also make you (other passengers) very vulnerable, come off it.
