Especially when it's summer and all
He says is "I'm hungry, but there is nothing to eat." 😭😭

I’d hate this too. Maybe some tough love about being grateful for having any food.

Mines not fussy but doesn't know what he wants to eat which is so annoying

Yes, I get the too from
Him. Literally say what do you want me to get you/make you and he's never knows. Drives me up the wall. I do think he's on the autism spectrum though as he's extremely sensory around textures etc.

Why are you getting him his food? If he wants a snack he can go get one instead of sitting whining about it.

My daughter has ARFID and I hate it.

Is not fussy eating as such, more of a phobia of new foods.

It rules our life, we can't eat out, we can't visit places that don't allow you to take your own food in, we can't go on holiday abroad.

She is autistic with ADHD and I find the ARFID by far the worst thing to navigate.

I would just give tough love!

Just offer one thing like a banana, cheese/ ham sandwich ect. If he doesn't want it, he's not hungry and can wait until meal time!

Both of my DC are autistic. DS is OK around food, but basically likes roughly the same kind of meal every day. Same selection of vegetables.

DD has always been harder to feed, right from weaning. At one point she would only eat bananas and scrambled egg (not at the same time!) She's a lot better now as a teenager, but I still need to do 'hidden vegetable' sauces so she'll eat enough varieties of food. It's been a sensory thing for her. She also has SPD, and would refuse to swallow lumpy food as a toddler. It was very frustrating at times. And restaurants were a no go area for a very long time. Even now, we have to check the menu carefully to make sure there's something she could eat.
