Camping when rain is forecast

Due to go camping with DC and with friends and DC from Friday for a week in UK and the forecast does not look good. Rain is forecast every day. 5 hour drive so not just round the corner. Would you go?

I thnk it very much depends on your tent and the campsite.

Small 3 man tent with no porch in a muddy field - miserable

Large tent with porch and inner lounge bit, propoer shower block - doable. porch gives you somewhere for wet coats and shoes and inner lounge gives somewhere to play card games etc

The thing that would bother be is putting up and taking down the tent in the rain as everyting gets wet!

I love all the tips on here - thank you!

Still undecided but have purchased waterproof shoes for DC to be prepared

Some days on a rough forecast can be great sunshine and showers. However if it's cold and grey and very wet it can be so miserable.
I would ask the tween what they think. If they are looking forward to hanging out with friends and don't mind risking then it might be worth it.
We have suffered some awful camping in bad summer weather and I wouldn't do it again.
For me the joy of camping is being outside and cooking outside not huddling under a gazebo.
