Local anaesthetic on Weds and still feel groggy?

I had a local anaesthetic on Weds afternoon to remove a mole on my arm. I still feel groggy three days later, that's not normal is it? I'm taking paracetamol for the pain, I've been told to avoid driving for a few days and heavy lifting for 2 weeks while the stitches heal. Anyone have any experience of this? Thanks

A local anaesthetic just to numb the area? You shouldn't feel groggy at all.

You don't feel groggy with a local anaesthetic. Perhaps you are unwell separately to the op or you maybe have a bit of an infection.

It won't be because of the local anaesthetic but it could be related to the wound/procedure.

Were you very anxious prior or during? Sometimes when we've been holding onto our emotions to get through something we have that crash afterwards and feel really drained. Did they give you string painkillers at the time, or was there adrenaline or other drugs used to stop the bleeding locally?

Do you feel otherwise well, no spreading redness or discharge or increased pain etc? No temp?

I don't hink that hcps can be blase about recovery times. I had a minor procedure and it wasn't even mentioned that I may need time off work. In hindsight, anyone with a bit of forethought could see I wasn't going to be quite back to normal immediately but I certainly wasn't counselled prior to the procedure as to how much of a knock I was going to take for a few days. They were very chilled about the stitches sorting themselves out 'in a few days' but actually it took 2 weeks and a trip to the practice nurse.

Minor stuff is minor compared to a general anaesthetic and a big wound, of course. But it's not nothing for our bodies to be put through.

@QuickWash I just wanted to come back to this thread and thank you for your kindness and helpful words. I think what you posted was very relevant, the shock of the surgery to my system was more than I had anticipated. It took around 4 days to feel completely normal again and I am still waiting for my stitches to be removed next week.
