Delay ttc or not at age 40?

We’ve been ttc for nearly 2 years now . I now need an op (GA for wisdom tooth removal) but I don’t know how long the waiting list will be? They really need removing but I’m worried if I put off ttc is that stupid at my age ? Or is it better to get them out (can they cause serious issues during pregnancy if they get infected again ?)

Im not sure what to do 😩

They said no and referred me to the nhs as the teeth are in a difficult position for removal

Have you tried getting a second opinion? I can’t see why it would be an nhs-only thing – or do you mean that it’s considered beyond the remit of just a dentist and needs a different specialism?

Are your wisdom teeth impacted? You could easily get them removed privately but as it’s an operation some dentists if it’s impacted prefer to refer to a dental hospital - I think you can get 2 done at once then prob 2 weeks antibiotics then 2 done 2 weeks later same re antibiotics. You probably won’t get an infection and need more antibiotics unless you’re like me who didn’t want antibiotics you couldn’t drink alcohol with (it was my birthday) and hated cleaning the area as it was impacted so they had to remove bone etc. and it was painful. But if you do as they say you won’t need more antibiotics (I got an infection see above) and should be fine to TTC after.

What have they given as the reason they need removal? Have they been getting infected?

She said a couple of times they’ve been getting infected.

Yes all the time , they are in a difficult position for removing, I think they said impacted and they are going to affect the teeth next to them? I didn’t even have them till Xmas they suddenly came through both sides so they are partially erupted too . I wanted it done under sedation but after my x Ray they said it’s not an option

Dentist here - have an ivf baby
Keep on ttc. Go on the waiting list. Deal with things as and when they happen.
