Flying - boarding cards panic - "not a boarding card"

Hi, just checked in for our flights but whilst our homeward passes are fine, our outbound boarding passes are not the usual QR code, instead we see this (yes tried downloading, still the same message). Anyone else had this and can reassure us? DH been on hold to jet2 for about 45 mins....

Flying - boarding cards panic - "not a boarding card"

It sounds like maybe they just have a technical problem. Allow some extra time and go to check in at the airport, like it says.

chipsandpeas · 15/07/2023 14:36

yuo need to go to the desk at the airport and they will give you your boarding passes

Sunbird24 · 15/07/2023 14:38

Not a drama, you’re checked in but you’ll need to collected boarding passes from the desk. Had the same for my return flights on my last overseas trip. No need to panic, or spend ages on the phone!
Gave a lovely holiday, wherever you’re going 😊

I once randomly had that: it said I had to go to the check-in desk, no explanation. So I did. It took seconds for them to check me in a give me a boarding pass. No Biggie.

Worst case scenario is that you check-in at the desk. It'll take you less time than hanging on the phone for ages. Not worth worrying about!

PuttingDownRoots · 15/07/2023 14:41

It means they need to give you a physical boarding card at the check in gate. Not all airports are as technically advanced as others.

LlynTegid · 15/07/2023 14:54

Just as said go to the desk. It's not Ryanair where you will be charged extra no doubt.

saraclara · 15/07/2023 14:59

It's not an issue. You'll just go to the checkin counter and be given your boarding pass. Even when I have a printed or digital boarding pass, I sometimes end up being given another one. Not all airports operate in the same way or have the same technology.

notimagain · 15/07/2023 15:54

Not uncommon on occasions with a few airlines, reasons various and it's not a major issue, just a bit of a PITA if you'd hope to avoid the check-in desks.

I wouldn't spend time/money on the telephone chasing it.

hopeishere · 15/07/2023 16:02

Just follow the instructions a get a boarding pass at the airport. What are you panicking about?

functionoverform · 15/07/2023 16:07

Is that Split ( Croatia)? They have a different operating system and many British airlines aren't compatible. We had a similar panic flying with BA. You just have to check in at the airport!

LaPerduta · 15/07/2023 16:09

I don't see the problem? It tells you exactly what to do and that there will be no charge. You obviously speak the language of where you're flying from, so don't spend many more time or energy on it until it's time to set off on your holiday.

MrsFezziwig · 15/07/2023 16:10

I’m not following. They told you what to do so do it!

Oophelia · 15/07/2023 16:11

You just have to go to the desk we had the same in Mexico, not all airports are compatible with the QR code.

Greigee · 15/07/2023 16:18

Why on earth is he on the phone to Jet2??

Bansheed · 15/07/2023 16:20

Echoing others. No need for a phone call, never mind a panic. Just follow the instructions

Karrpt · 15/07/2023 17:06

It literally says, go to the check in desk for your boarding card and that you won't be charged 😅

ConnectedToSandsview · 15/07/2023 17:31

Not all international destinations accept online check in boarding passes and require actual ones, more have been doing this since Covid. I’ve had this a lot recently (I fly 3-4 times a month for work).

Just go to the check in desk. Just allow a bit more time at the airport

Its no issue whatsoever.

Why on earth is he on the phone to Jet2??

He isn't now, lol

He panicked as, despite being a very regular business flyer, he had never seen this before (and because the flight leaves at 7am having to arrive 2 hours early is a bit of a pain)

All sorted now, thanks everyone

If you're not checking in baggage, you'll probably find that there are check in machines that will print your boarding card, so you won't need to join the long queue. That's happened to me on my last couple of flights.
I'm not sure if Stansted has them, but Gatwick and Heathrow do.

Coffeeeeeee · 15/07/2023 18:04

Happened to us OP. You will get your boarding passes at desk. Don’t worry
