Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I've been up about half an hour already, the washer's on for school shirts for the last time until Sept (although maybe I'll wash them next week actually). I've just sat down in my kitchen spot with what's left of my first cuppa. I have the window wide open but there's not many birds about atm & it's very quiet.

Everyone else is still sleeping atm so I'm enjoying the peace for now.

I have a busy day of not much planned. I'm off out to my favourite restaurant with the girls' dad tonight so saving my energy for that. Don't want to push my luck after chemo yesterday. The girls are planning to order Chinese for their tea 😋

First job is to pin & try on some trousers tonight, then see what dd1 thinks of my outfit - she's usually quite reliable at telling me if I need to change anything, without being rude. Atm they're almost full length on me but they're actually meant to be cropped - I'm just a short arse 🤣

I have Self Care Saturday planned after that! Since I haven't been out on an evening in months I'm going to have the scrubbiest shower ever, face mask, moisturise instead of be lazy, proper make up, paint my toenails etc. I may even do my fingernails! I'm really looking forward to it 😊

I also want to start varnishing Goldilocks & the Three Bears. I need to paint on the bears' faces first while I wait for dd to get up and look at my trousers.

Dd2 will sleep for ages yet I think. She's fallen asleep very early most nights this week & is ready for the end of term. She was toying with seeing if dd1 wanted to go for a wander into town, depending on the weather. Not sure they'll actually bother though & dd1's happy enough mooching here.

I'll head straight to bed when we get in, I think. The girls will probably be up later than me 🙈

I had an ikea trip planned but I found out this week my "sprained" ankle is actually broken (and shark week has arrived) so I'm having a duvet day. Got the kettle on for a cuppa and I'm going to fill my hot water bottle because my back is killing me from a combination of hobbling around and period pain!

Just collected this beauty..

DS is getting his hair cut. He normally comes by himself after school, but he forgot to come a couple of weeks ago, so I've brought a bottle of fizz to apologise and for a natter as I know his (female) barber since he was tiny.
Going to finalise our new bathroom later and I have shopping to do for our holiday and DS birthday (both on 2 weeks)

It was supposed to be be kids swimming lessons in the morning then haircuts in the afternoon, nothing exciting. But both kids have got a tummy bug and are throwing up so I’m catching up on some podcasts and doing housework while they lie on the couch watching Disney channel movies (Teen Beach movie is truly terrible)

I've had a week of not being well so with 4 of us in the house and a dog you can imagine the mess that's built up 🙈 told myself today I'd get my shit together and get on top of the cleaning and some DIY but I'm still sat on the sofa in my dressing gown browsing MN!
We have house guests next weekend so I really could do with actually making start with everything!
Waiting on DP to get home from work, he's there a bit longer today as he's also taken my car to service it at work, might be able to rope him in to helping with my to do list when he gets home 😅 he's a good egg so will likely help without being asked.
