Red light disaster in london

The lights for the pedestrian crossing should have been shaded so only cars close could see them but they weren't so from across the junction I thought they were controlling the traffic I was in. The crossing was only a few metres down the road straight ahead of me.

I am tensed what will be the outcome? This is my first mistake

Traffic light cameras are usually smaller than the larger roadside speed cameras and positioned a a few metres before the traffic light, if you google they are online where they are.

So you thought it was a repeater light not a separate crossing? Unless you were out of position ie. In a box junction or accident I doubt there would be any comeback for hesitation.

If you do receive a court summons or other penalty, accept it with a good grace.

Ignore it then or report if you aren't happy

Most likely outcome if no accident or anything else at the time is 3 points and £100 fine or a course which they sometimes do for for first offences.

So you thought there was a red light that you were approaching so you went slowly then realised it wasn't for you so sped up? So you think you might have driven a little slower than the speed limit for a short time? What offence do you think you've performed?

I ran a red light in London a few weeks back when there were two sets of lights in quick succession, the roads markings were faded and I didn't I totally realise they were two separate sets, drove through the first one to wait at the second. Very quiet junction and no ticket yet!

It's more likely a red light camera than a speed camera if it's next to traffic lights. What will be will be! At least no one was hurt.

OP are you always this dramatic? Heaven help you if you're ever in an actual disaster.

I'm not sure it was even that. I think she mistakenly slowed down for a red light which wasn't actually for her then realised it wasn't and sped up again. Couldn't be less of an event!

You can appeal if you get a ticket or worse, it's important that misleading signage is flagged up. Appeals often win.
