Entertaining kids at adult party

My 50th birthday party in hall, not my house. 50 adults and 20 kids coming. Kids aged 0-10 years. What can I do to stop kids getting bored? Craft table? Box of toys? Any suggestions welcome 🤗.
I'm hoping adults will be happy with food, drink and disco.

You don't need to.
Most will be happy with a disco.
If not, it is up to their parents to bring whatever it takes to entertain them, but, in truth, it is a party. They won't need entertaining.

A craft table is a good idea.

You can print colouring sheets off the internet.

Can you borrow a few board games from anyone?

Homemade playdoh is very easy to make, and it's cheap as chips to make a big load.

I had a table of colouring stuff at our wedding, with wedding themed pictures to colour in that I'd spent ages finding on the internet and printed off. Only a couple got used though, during the speeches. They weren't very long though so the children didn't have much time to be bored and then it was the disco which they all loved.

I wouldn't expect anything special for the children although it is a lovely gesture. I would bring a few fidget toys and a tablet or book each for my younger ones but they would be more than happy with a disco.

Great, thank you.
Happy noone said a bouncy castle or get a magician!

I had a few craft kits and little toys, like those small gliders that you put together. Kids had a great time launching them off a raised platform (luckily lots of space so no one got a glider in the ear). Face painter. But mostly they just went a bit feral and guarded corridors from each other and battled for control of a certain space! Disco was v popular. Was a wedding, so over quite a few hours. Apparently they had fun and didn't bother anyone despite the rather anti social games!

Is there any outdoor space? We had things like giant Jenga, giant connect 4, foam rocket launchers and twister.

Kids built a fort out of the Jenga blocks and connect 4 and used the rockets as missiles for any invading parents.

Adults played with twister

Also found a scavenger hunt online that I printed out.

Things like "get a high 5 from someone with a red dress"

You could buy some disposable cameras for the children to take photos.
Buy some puzzles or games in a charity shop.
Lay on a treasure hunt?
Give them each an appropriate age activity book.
We had a party in a golf club and had a private garden area. The children seemed to congregate out there. We should have taken some balls etc.

Rocknrollstar · 13/07/2023 08:16

Sorry - is there a separate room where they could watch a movie ?
Encourage parents to allow phones/ tablets

Kids will be happy to interact and play with each other and dance at the disco. Things like bouncy castles end up being more work for the parents as they’ll have to supervise and this can take away from them having fun. Maybe get a wee pack of bubbles if appropriate or glow bracelets or something if you feel you want to do something but I wouldn’t worry

Batmansmummy · 13/07/2023 08:17

I would 100% get an adult suitable bouncy castle 😂 the kids will love it and so will 70% of the adults after a drink 😂

gogomoto · 13/07/2023 08:21

Craft table (or colouring in, puzzles and pens) is fine, welcomed - parents responsibility to entertain their kids really. Mine would be dancing

Positive41 · 13/07/2023 10:05

A corner with soft play toys for the younger kids where they can sit/be laid down so the parents can have a break carrying them.

A face painter

Some board games

Individual party bags with age appropriate toys/craft/colouring

Obviously if you have outdoor space, kids will be happiest running around.

Obv don't do all of the above!
