Social services said ds can come home, no safe guarding put in place.

There was a meeting with Social services regarding ds. It's said they are going to put family therapy in place via a social services general practitioner. Which should happen next week.

Social worker has said he can come home . And if he kicks of he's not to go back to his sisters house . I would need to find him else where to stay. I told her several times there is no one else. All she done was repeat her self. So if something does kick off social services are going to have to accommodate him.

I don't think he should have come back until there's a safety plan. Or that we had at least one session with the therapist.

This won't make much sense unless you know of my situation.

See how it goes is a good idea. Try and treat it like a fresh start.

Are you looking at your own plans to move forward here? That's good you are all talking and agreeing is it not?

Goldenbear · 12/07/2023 20:15

Rather than just Therapy, is any kind of education being sorted out for your DS for September after he has missed 2 years already.

WallaceinAnderland · 12/07/2023 20:16

I thought you were going to say you wouldn't have him home?

Goldenbear · 12/07/2023 20:16

Surely him sitting around all day everyday is not going to help any young person. Is there not a holistic plan to assist him, to stop him being so isolated, to be around people his own age and to not be around so much on the house?

Yes it's quite hard because i have ds saying things like , what if she starts. Meaning my 12 year old. What if she gives me looks. Etc etc . But nothing has come of it thank goodness.

Sadly my 12 year old went to her room as soon as she got home . She 100% needs therapy

Is this the SW that types all the time instead of listening? And then reports are missing loads of info?

What did the manager say after you spoke to them? Are you getting a new long term SW yet?

Why can't DS go to his sister? Because sister doesn't want him to or because SW thinks he should be with you?

I had no choice. Because there has to be family therapy first. I know they are not being completely honest but there's nothing I can do. So I will ride it out for now. In my heart I do want him home. So I'm willing to try whilst we wait for a longer term social worker.

I see why you are stressed, as family therapy is a long-term solution (if it works, it's not a magic fix) and there's nothing that different for today, but perhaps this might have changed his thinking a bit. Crossed fingers for you, so hard.

Yes that's the one. He can't go back to his sisters because that's the agreement via her own social worker. We knew this was the case.

They said its likely to go to child in need . That will mean a new social worker. But she also added see how it gos.

I totally agree . But one step at a time. Maybe the social worker-general practitioner cam help with that . He definitely needs something though

I really do think this would be monunmental in helping on every way. A person who is 16 should in general be occupied, it is not healthy to be not using that mental and physical energy. I hope it works out.

Ds saw the social worker at his sisters today and asked him to sign something I asked. did she say what it was. He said no not at first till he questioned it. Then she said it was a referral to a place called respect. So he signed it. I asked him but did you read what you were signing? He said no. Then I asked did his sister read it . He said no she was sorting her son out in the other room . Now im worried about what he's signed.

I have included a link. I'm not sure this place needs a referral
