Bosch, Ninja or Kenwood food processor - help me decide

I've got food processor blindness and can't decide which brand to get. Prices are all around £100 as there doesn't seem to be any sales.

Mainly would be used to finely cut (sometimes blend) vegetables so I can hide them in sauces for my young kids. Would also like it to make dough and smoothies and whisk egg whites.

I had decided on the ninja and then read it cut multiple people, so think that has ruled it out. Bosch and Kenwood seem to have mixed reviews. Don't want to spend £300+ on a kitchen appliance.

Previously used the Kenwood Mini Chopper, which has too small a capacity as I generally batch cook. It was defeated a few weeks ago by some carrots too, not sure if I'm not supposed to chop carrots?

Anyone got any ideas?

Have you looked on Amazon today? It's prime day so they have loads in the sale x

Just to be awkward, I've had a Magimix for nearly 20 years and it's brilliant. I know they're pricey but I love mine.

I used to have a Magimix, which was great, but since downsizing to a smaller kitchen I've had a Bosch with a smaller footprint and it's great. Occasionally the motor struggles with big chunks of frozen stuff (e..g for smoothies) but that's usually solved by adding a bit more liquid.

I have a Kenwood Chef mixer but don't have the counter space to have it out all the time, it's pretty reliable though.

Just looked mine up and it's the Bosch MCM3501MGB MultiTalent 3 Food Processor.

You'll struggle to get one appliance that does all those things (chopping, whisking, liquidising and kneading dough) without compromise for under £100, so you probably need to think about what the priority is.

Priority is definitely chopping as I am having to hand dice everything atm and it is taking A LONG time.

I am not usually a baker, but would like to do more of it as the kids get a little older, hence the whisking and dough making. Smoothies are another aspirational thing.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking of, but the reviews on amazon were quite mixed.

Ah, I didn't see that, probably because I was looking at specific blenders. I was going to go with John Lewis for the 2 year guarantee, but will take a look at amazons sale stuff too.

Ok. This is my most used kitchen appliancey thing.

The chopper capacity isn't huge but it's easy enough to work in batches.

The stick blender will liquidise and has a whisk.

Kneading dough requires a stand mixer, but you can pick up old Kenwood Chefs on eBay for a bargain price sometimes.

Thanks everyone, the Bosch food processor is in the amazon sale for £79.99, so I've bought that. Fingers crossed it doesn't have any problems.

I've also bought a once for all mandolin as can use that when my baby is napping without waking her. So an expensive day, and need to work out where to put them.

Mandolin = VERY HIGH UP IN A LOCKED CUPBOARD. I know whereof I speak. Amazingly, fingerprints do grow back.

Yarnorama · 11/07/2023 23:35

I agree with @SqueakyDinosaur on the mandolin 👉🏼🩸

All our cupboards are locked atm! This is one with hidden blades, the real ones terrify me!
