To move before or after holiday?

Posting here for traffic, just would like opinions please : )

We are booked for an abroad holiday for a week in September, this was booked back at the beginning of the year.

Since then we have agreed a house sale and purchase, which Is likely to complete - around September/October time!

So just looking for opinions as to whether a holiday before or after moving would be better?

The balance is paid, though I'm not too sure if we can move the holiday ? Especially as an exchange/completion date isn't set , who knows what date to even move it to

I would stick with the plans. For one week it's not bad.

If it really gets tights you may need to start packing earlier and then finish off when you are back.

Just make sure that you are reachable via phone/email during your stay.

We had a similar situation last year and went for a completion date a week before we went on holiday. We were getting close to our mortgage offer expiring so just didn't want to risk any further hold ups on our return.

Complete before you go if at all possible. Then you can go away without the stress of a forthcoming house move hanging over you.
If you're on holiday just before exchange, you'll be on tenterhooks about something going wrong last minute.

id move before, then you have the holiday to relax

If you are estimating completion Sept/Oct now, I'd hazard a guess you won't move til Oct/Nov.
Go on holiday as booked. Make sure the Solicitors and estate agents know it's booked.

If you can move before the holiday, great. If you can't, we'll, you move after your holiday. I suspect this is more likely!
